Africa-Press – Angola. Staff from the Provincial Command of the National Police of Namibe today, Monday, donated blood to local hospitals, as part of the program for its 47th anniversary, which will be celebrated on the 28th.

This campaign involved 50 previously selected staff and resulted in 31 blood bags.

The director of the Provincial Health Office in Namibe, Corinthians Miguel, thanked the solidarity gesture and appealed to other organizations to follow the example, so that the hemotherapy center always has a stock of blood and thus help patients who need this liquid.

“We hope that the gesture is not just an allusion to mayhem, but that it is repeated quarterly to guarantee permanent Stock, as here our appeal also goes to other organizations, churches, youth organizations and others to join this blood donation campaign”, said the person in charge.

So that there is no shortage of blood, the government of the province of Namibe carried out an awareness campaign today with the faithful of the Tocoista church to join the “Clube Salva Vida” which aims to donate blood.

In this awareness campaign, the Deputy Governor for the Political, Social and Economic Sector, Anica de Sousa, appealed to the sensitivity of the Christian community to donate blood, so that the patient finds blood in the hospital the necessary help, thus avoiding the donation of emergency way.

The minister appealed to Christians to be guided by the spirit of humanism, solidarity and love for others, joining the Volunteer Donors Club, called Salva Vidas.

Anica de Sousa also mentioned that during the year ended, 4,946 cases of anemia were registered at the provincial health network and 54 people lost their lives due to lack of blood.
