Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, praised the work carried out by the National Police (PN) in defending public order and tranquility, territorial integrity and the sublime values of the country.
In a congratulatory note on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the founding of the PN, which takes place this Wednesday (28), the leader of the Angolan Parliament hopes that the military corporation will continue to play the role that the Constitution and other legal instruments reserve for it. for the sake of security, order and tranquility of the populations.
“I express, on behalf of the deputies of the National Assembly and myself, the warmest congratulations to all the personnel who put together efforts daily, to defend public order and tranquility, territorial integrity and the defense of the sublime values of the country”, expressed.
Carolina Cerqueira welcomed, in a special way, the Personal Security and Protocol Entities Police (UPP/UGH), “which throughout the day has collaborated with our Institution for the normal functioning and free movement and protection of deputies, in the exercise of its activities.”
He also welcomed the promotion of female employees to senior positions of responsibility in the military corporation, “which proves the effective application of the protection and defense of women’s rights”.
He expressed appreciation for the PN’s performance in combating human and organ trafficking, border violations, smuggling of mineral resources, violence against minors, domestic violence, the breakdown of families and the relief and rescue of populations from disasters.
National Police Day is celebrated every year on the 28th of February because it was on this date that, in 1976, the first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto, presided, at the Mártires do Kapolo Police School, in Luanda, at the ceremony of oath of flag of 383 personnel.
The central event of the PNA’s 48th anniversary festivities took place at the Higher Institute of Police and Criminal Sciences “Osvaldo Serr Van-Dúnem”, under the presidency of the corporation’s general commander, General Commissioner Arnaldo Manuel Carlos.
