Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan Priscilla Varela, a winger who plays in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), for Idaho State, a basketball team from the United States of America, is in Angola to encourage the women’s sport.
Priscila Varela is the first Angolan player to sign for Idaho State University in the 1st division of the main women’s university basketball championship (NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball).
On her agenda, according to a family source, the basketball player will meet with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, with the vice-president of the Angolan Basketball Federation, Sílvio Lemos, with government entities and civil society in the province of Cabinda, his homeland.
Priscila, 19 years old, is the first Angolan to serve in the NCAA and will participate with her brother, Carlos Varela, who plays at the College (university basketball), in social and mass activities for the practice of basketball, in the provinces of Luanda and Cabinda, according to the family source.
