Africa-Press – Angola. The maxim “The most important thing is to solve the people’s problems” by Agostinho Neto should serve as a compass for all people with or without political power, to improve the economy, solve social and cultural problems, considered in Lubango, the administrator local, Lisender André.

The administrator who spoke at the event on September 17th, National Hero’s Day, stated that it is a timeless slogan that belongs to everyone, but it is still not interpreted in its effective and real dimension.

For the manager, the phrase should be the guide for everyone’s actions towards building a better and more inclusive country.

He declared it to be a maxim of order that inspired the search for the highest achievements such as peace, democracy and continues to inspire the reach and implementation of national reconciliation, permanent dialogue and coexistence in diversity.

He highlighted that the scope of Agostinho Neto’s influence is not just limited to political aspects, but is assumed in the social and cultural field, a legacy that inspires new generations, in the most varied dimensions of Angolans’ lives.

He reinforced that Agostinho Neto was a man of the people, committed to the population’s problems, as well as convinced and determined to solve the community’s most pressing challenges.

“Neto’s memory does not fade, it is intertwined with the history of Angola and its evolution, which is why it is important to always celebrate his teachings, his perspective and futuristic vision, the way he looked at the development and modernization of Angola, focused on education and instruction as solid foundations on which the construction of a sovereign, inclusive and democratic nation must be based”, he continued.

Lisender André, after visiting an exhibition of literary works by Agostinho Neto, said that the poet’s entries bring to young people the need to consolidate the process of building positive social values, with emphasis on patriotism.

Agostinho Neto, according to the politician, also redefined the conceptual paradigms of Angolan poetry, inserting in it basic, completely fundamental aspects such as Angolanness, melody and communicability.

“It is a rational intellectuality of importance and relevance that goes beyond the country’s borders, considering the historical and cultural dimension of Agostinho Neto to be transcendent”, he reinforced.
