Africa-Press – Angola. Combating street vending in the municipality of Viana, in Luanda, is the work priority of the new Municipal Directorate for the Promotion of Integrated Economic Development in this district, said director António Kiala yesterday, upon his swearing in.
The person in charge indicated, to put an end to this situation, that they will work in a pedagogical way, with primacy in raising the awareness of the population to carry out the sale in the markets, and should count on the support of the inspection to give another image to the municipality.
Recently, the Governor of Luanda recalled that the Government defends the need for community involvement, within the scope of projects to be developed, with emphasis on the intensification of the trade ordering program, so that the population has space to carry out their activity.
António Kiala made these statements to the press Monday, after taking office to replace Dorivaldo José Adão, recently appointed to carry out the same function at provincial level.
Also the director of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Joana Pedro, also took office, who promised to apply agrarian policies to help peasants who still use inappropriate techniques for food production.
Joana Pedro takes over from Rogério Alves Neves, who left at her request for health reasons.
The municipal administrator, Demétrio de Sepúlveda, congratulated those who took office and highlighted the existence of a great challenge in the agriculture sector, specifically in the context of combating poverty and supporting families.
The new director of Integrated Economic Development recalled that Viana has the largest industrial and commercial park in Luanda, which is reflected in the municipality and in the population.
He reiterated that a day was currently underway to reorganize trade, which is why he encouraged the person in charge to dedicate a large part of his time to this situation, in collaboration with the district administrators to bring his challenge to a successful conclusion.
They comprise the municipality of Viana, the urban districts of Vila/sede, Baia, Estalagem, Vila Flor, Zango, Kikuxi and the commune of Calumbo.
