New UNITA secretary in Huambo already in office

Africa-Press – Angola. The new secretary of UNITA in the province of Huambo, Apolo Yakuvela, began his duties yesterday, Thursday, after being introduced to members of the local Government and militants of the political organization.

Apolo Yakuvela, recently appointed by the IUF president, Adalberto Costa Júnior, to replace Albertina Navita Ngolo, also exchanged portfolios with his predecessor, was presented by the secretary general of this party-political formation, Álvaro Tchikwamanga Daniel.

On the occasion, Álvaro Tchikwamanga Daniel made it known that the appointment of Apolo Yakuvela is part of UNITA’s staff rotation plan, so that it has a better functioning, with a view to achieving the established objectives.

The supporter asked the Government of Huambo province and other public/private institutions in the region, as well as UNITA staff, militants and sympathizers, for greater support and collaboration with the organization’s new secretary.

According to Álvaro Tchikwamanga Daniel, “the new secretary brings with him a vast political and administrative experience that will be very useful for UNITA and for the province of Huambo, in general”.

On his turn, the new secretary of UNITA in Huambo promised a more open and available UNITA to contribute to the development of the province in its various domains.

Apolo Yakuvela, born in the municipality of Cachiungo (Huambo), is a general in the reserve.

Prior to his appointment, he was vice-president of the National Jurisdictional Council of UNITA.

Albertina Navita Ngolo, who served as UNITA’s secretary in Huambo province for approximately two years, will now be vice-president of the Parliamentary Bench of this political force.
