Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the political party FNLA, Nimi a Simbi, announced on Wednesday the suspension of Ngola Kabango, a member of the Political Bureau of the FNLA Central Committee, from all party activities.
Speaking at a press conference, Simbi denounced internal actions that the party considers deliberate attempts to sabotage and destabilize the current leadership.
At the last Political Bureau meeting on September 26, Kabango reportedly made offensive remarks about the current president and other members of the bureau. According to Simbi, this behavior has been repeated at other internal meetings.
Due to the severity of the allegations, Simbi stated that the party leadership has suspended Ngola Kabango from all FNLA activities and central meetings based on articles 11 and 32 of the party’s statutes.
“The disciplinary process has already been forwarded to the Secretariat of Control and Discipline, which will evaluate the member’s actions. Considering the gravity of the offenses against the president and other party members, I reserve the right to appeal to the courts,” Simbi stated.
He emphasized that this measure aims to preserve harmony and the smooth functioning of the organization.
According to Nimi a Sambi, the former second vice president of the FNLA, Kabango is promoting internal disorder and acting outside the party’s statutes.
Simbi noted that Kabango left the organization for five years and only reappeared after the 5th Ordinary Congress in 2021. The leadership classifies his actions as “repeatedly destabilizing.”
In the last elections, in 2022, the party managed to elect two deputies to the National Assembly.
