Africa-Press – Angola. Nine thousand diamonds of different carats were seized (Wednesday) in Cuango municipality, Lunda Norte province, by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC).
The information was provided Thursday, in Dundo, by the institution’s spokesman, Graciano Lumanhi, stressing that the diamonds were in the possession of a 44-year-old national citizen.
He made it known that the citizen intended to travel to the country’s capital, Luanda, in order to sell the diamonds.
The seized diamonds will be handed over to the “Operação Transparência” Enrollment Commission, while the alleged illegal trafficker will be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for subsequent steps.
