North Korea closes Embassy in Angola

Africa-Press – Angola. The Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea announced this Wednesday, in Luanda, the unilateral closure of its Diplomatic Mission accredited in Angola.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), the decision was transmitted by that country’s ambassador, Jo Pyong Cholao, to the head of Angolan diplomacy, Téte António.

According to the communication, in his farewell, Jo Pyong Chol said that by decision of the capital, Pyongyang, the North Korean Embassy is closed and that he returns to his country.

Minister Téte António wished success in the professional future of the ambassador, who served his country in Angola for five years.

Relations between Angola and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea have been in force since Angola’s independence, on November 11, 1975, and the two countries cooperate in the fields of health, construction and technological information.
