Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OEACP), Anna Rita Sithole, called this Thursday in Luanda for an increasingly active participation of the Angolan representation in the body of the Assembly of ACP countries.
Anna Rita Sithole, who is also president of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly, was speaking to the press at the end of a meeting with the first vice-president of the Angolan Parliament, Américo Cuononoca.
“I make an appeal that during my presidency of the body of the assembly of the ACP countries, the Angolan delegation continues to assume the important role that it has had in recent times (…)”, he pointed out.
The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OEACP) took the opportunity to congratulate the journalistic class, within the framework of World Press Freedom Day, celebrated Wednesday (May 3).
He recognized the work that journalists have done “so that our people, of whom we are the worthy representatives, can follow the best decisions and drive the development of our countries”.
In Angola since Wednesday, the president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OEACP held, on the same day, a meeting with the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
Angola assumed the Presidency of the OEACP during the holding, in Luanda, of the 10th Summit of Heads of States and Governments of the Organization, held from 6 to 10 December 2022.
The Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States is an international body, resulting from the evolution of the ACP Group, which brings together 79 Member States from the three continents.
