Africa-Press – Angola. The proposed General State Budget Law (OGE/2024) foresees allocating 442 billion 678 million 392 thousand and 226 kwanzas (1.79%) for the Construction, Rehabilitation, Conservation and Maintenance of Road Infrastructure Program , which represents a reduction of 0.84%, compared to the 2023 value.
The OGE/2023, still being executed, estimates a value of 529 billion 88 million 424 thousand and 920 kwanzas for this sector, representing 2.63% of the more than Kz 20.1 billion, the global amount of the current Budget.
However, of the total amount foreseen for the aforementioned program, in 2024, it is estimated that 21 billion 357 million 595 thousand and 237 kwanzas will be allocated to road maintenance and conservation services, while 23 billion 277 million 271 thousand and 866 will be for the construction of new national roads.
The plan also includes the construction of municipal roads, valued at more than one billion kwanzas, asphalting of urban roads (Kz 119.1 billion), earthworks (16.5 billion), rehabilitation of national roads (193.9 billion), intervention on municipal roads (42.5 billion) and construction of bridges (24.8 billion).
On the other hand, regarding the housing sector, the OGE/2024 estimates allocating an amount of 72 billion 946 million 699 thousand and 123 kwanzas, of which more than 50.3 billion will be for the construction of social houses, 22.3 billion for centralities, 26.4 million for the sale of properties and 145.5 million for the promotion of directed self-construction.
For the Territorial Planning, Urbanism, Cartography and Cadastre Program, a value of 13 billion 248 million 620 thousand and 385 kwanzas is expected, with 9.3 billion for cartographic production of cities, towns and villages, more than three billion for preparing urban requalification plans, 92.5 million for registering plots in the national system and 751.5 million for geodetic stations connected to satellite navigation systems.
In addition, the OGE also includes the Construction, Rehabilitation, Conservation and Maintenance of Public Buildings and Social Facilities Program, with an estimated budget of more than 98.7 billion kwanzas.
Of this amount, 85.4 billion will be for the construction and rehabilitation of public buildings, 6.7 billion for the maintenance and conservation of social equipment and public buildings, 5.2 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of social equipment and 1.2 billion million for intervention in public buildings.
The OGE/2024, which begins to be debated this week by deputies to the National Assembly, foresees revenues and expenses of 24 billion 715 billion 263 million 134 thousand and 196 kwanzas, against the Kz 20.1 billion contained in the current Budget.
