The candidate for Secretary-General of the OMA (Organization of Angolan Women), Emília Carlota Dias, reinforced this Wednesday in Uíge her commitment to the areas of agriculture, education, health, female leadership, as well as strengthening the role of women in society and regional development.
Emília Carlota Dias, speaking at the presentation of her electoral manifesto to voters in Uíge, spoke of her commitment to mobilizing women’s cooperatives, empowering women in agricultural management, and influencing policies to support the revitalization of local production.
Regarding education and training, she said that the focus will be on encouraging women to remain in school.
Regarding the focus on health and protection, she said that the OMA will concentrate on mobilizing efforts to improve access to maternal and child health services, raising awareness about responsible family planning, and firmly combating domestic violence.
She also highlighted the importance of increasing the number of women in decision-making positions, considering it essential that the OMA should be a school for female leadership. “Those who sustained the resistance must participate in building the future,” she justified.
She further stated the importance of transforming cultural heritage and organized leadership, transforming the memory of struggle into political maturity, transforming production into economic stability, and transforming identity into national influence.
She also said that she will engage in consolidating political and social intervention and contribute with maturity to the MPLA’s victory in the 2027 general elections.During the presentation, the first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, guaranteed the support of MPLA militants, friends, and sympathizers, as well as those of the JMPLA and OMA, for candidate Emília Carlota Dias.
