Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Women’s Organization (OMA), Thursday, delivered material for homemade soap making, to an association of the association, in the municipality of Quiçama, with a view to promoting entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment.

The association made up of 20 members already produces a total of 100 bars of soap per day, which has helped to mitigate the basic needs of families.

The delivery of the means, including bathtubs, buckets and detergents, fell to OMA’s general secretary, Joana Tomás.

According to the association’s coordinator, Julieta Caoji, they are producing soap only in the municipal seat, Quiçama, due to lack of conditions to access the other neighbourhoods, so they request the improvement of the roads.

On the sidelines of the act, the general secretary of OMA offered rice, pasta, oil, salt, corn meal, among other essential goods to the organization’s militants.

On the other hand, Joana Tomás verified the state and conditions of a literacy jango in the Coxe community, where she donated didactic material to encourage learning and knowledge.

“We are going to work harder to reduce the number of illiterate women in Quiçama as much as possible”, said the secretary.

On the occasion, he appealed to the need to strengthen family skills, combat alcoholism, domestic violence and juvenile prostitution.

In this regard, the municipal secretary of OMA, in Quiçama, Delfina Gouveia made it known that 325 women have already benefited from literacy training in the locality.

The visit to the municipality of Quiçama aimed at preparing for holding assemblies of balance and renewal of mandates in the basic structures of the MPLA.
