Africa-Press – Angola. Eight vulnerable families in Xangongo village, Ombadja municipality, Cunene province, were assisted, Saturday, with various goods, by the Angolan Women’s Organization (OMA).

Families received food (corn meal, rice, oil, salt), wheelchairs, Canadian crutches, zinc sheets, wheelbarrow, tables, among others.

In the act of delivery, the provincial secretary of OMA of Cunene, Lúcia Sincopela, said that the donation is part of the solidarity actions that the organization is promoting, within the scope of the March Woman day.

Lúcia Sincopela informed that similar actions will take place in the municipalities of Curoca, Cuvelai, Cahama, Cuanhama and Namacunde, in the coming days.

Within the framework of the March Woman programme, OMA also promotes, in neighborhoods and informal markets, awareness-raising lectures on malaria, diarrheal diseases, HIV/AIDS, among others, in order to contribute to improving the living conditions of families.

With a universe of 394 thousand and 964 inhabitants, the municipality of Ombadja is 98 kilometers from the city of Ondjiva and is divided by the communes of Xangongo (headquarters), Humbe, Naulila, Mucope and Ombala Yo Mungo.
