Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy provincial secretary of OMA in Huambo, Maria da Conceição Katuvala, called on the organization’s militants to provide greater support to the socio-economic transformation process underway in the country.

The party official made this appeal, Saturday, in the municipality of Ucuma, while speaking at the closing ceremony of the “March Woman” day, which took place under the motto “OMA, Committed to the Fight for Women’s Rights and Child Protection”.

Accordingly, he warned them not to be deceived by false political promises, which contribute nothing to social well-being, but to commit themselves to strengthening unity within the party.

Regarding the “Março Mulher” event, he said that it allowed for reflection, through lectures and meetings on the life and work of OMA’s leading militants, with emphasis on Deolinda Rodrigues, Teresa Afonso, Lucrécia Paím, Irene Coem and Engrácia dos Santos, who gave so much in favor of the national liberation of the then Portuguese colonialist.

This organization’s “Women’s March” was marked by various activities, with emphasis on marches to repudiate acts of sexual abuse against minors, radio debates, visits to public institutions, blood donation and cleaning campaigns, acts of solidarity and support for the elderly, as well as sporting, recreational and cultural activities.
