Africa-Press – Angola. The Ombudsman’s Office considers the death of sociologist and social analyst Laurindo Vieira, victim of gunshots on public roads, last Thursday, as an irreparable loss for the country and for this institution, in particular.
In a note of condolences, the Ombudsman’s Office rejects the heinous, barbaric and inhumane act in which the Angolan sociologist was killed.
On the other hand, this institution also recalls that during his lifetime, Laurindo Vieira maintained a bond with the Ombudsman, having been the first office director of the first deputy ombudsman, dedicating his commitment and dedication to this public service.
In light of the misfortune, the note reads, the Ombudsman recommends that the Defense and Security forces carry out a thorough investigation of the crime and reinforce the guarantee and maintenance of public security.
In the same sense, the Gregório Semedo University (UGS), where Laurindo Vieira was rector, regrets the premature and abrupt death of the sociologist and recognizes his invaluable contributions to the academic community.
This academy recognizes that the specialist boosted the growth and development of UGS, as well as the lives of many students, teachers, workers and collaborators with his wisdom, empathy and leadership.
In his honor, the UGS declares institutional mourning on the 15th and 16th of January this month, with the wake taking place on the first day at R20 and the funeral of the deceased will take place on the second day.
