Africa-Press – Angola. The Ombudsman, Florbela Araújo, received, in audience, those responsible for the MOSAIKO Institute, within the scope of consultation and collaboration with civil society.

At the meeting, according to a note quoted yesterday, Friar Júlio Gonçalves Candeeiro, director general of MOSAIKO, a philanthropic institution dedicated to safeguarding Human Rights and citizenship, presented the institution’s and citizens’ concerns to the Ombudsman.

The meeting also addressed several topics, including respect for the dignity of the person, reform and access to justice, the length of court proceedings and the need for greater support for civil society organizations.

Florbela Araújo made it known that the institution she directs is open to partnerships aimed at guaranteeing citizens’ rights and freedoms and pursuing the national interest.

The Ombudsman also referred to the attributions, responsibilities and powers of the Ombudsman in the relationship between citizens and public institutions.

In addition to the two officials, the deputy ombudsman, Aguinaldo Costa Cristóvão, the directors of Public Relations and Protocol, Exchange, Specialized Areas and the director of the Institutional Communication and Press Office of the Ombudsman took part in the meeting.

Also present for MOSAIKO were lawyer Maria Imaculada and Verónica Pereira, from the Institute’s Communication and Image area.
