Africa-Press – Angola. An exhibition called “Cultural Diversity”, by artist Adão Mussungo, opened this Monday at the MDC Shopping art gallery, paying homage to figures linked to culture and politics.
The event, which runs until the 13th of next month, aims to open partnerships between that commercial establishment and the various art and culture ateliers in Luanda.
Adão Mussungo welcomed the gallery’s initiative, which aims to support visual artists in showing their products.
He said that the exhibition, with 40 paintings, demonstrates cultural diversity, as the world is increasingly globalized and connected.
For this activity, the artist made it known that several techniques were used, with emphasis on acrylic on canvas, oil on canvas, mixed techniques, where bright colors stand out, with emphasis on yellow, green, blue and red.
The paintings feature figures such as Queen Njinga, Miriam Makeba, Bob Marley, Aretha Franklin, masks that represent national culture and other figures that, in an abstract way, portray love for others.
Adão Mussungo, born in Luanda, has a degree in fine arts from the National Institute of Artistic and Cultural Training (INFAC).
