Africa-Press – Angola. The process of repayment of credit granted to the real economy, by the Credit Support Program (PAC), starts in May, announced this Tuesday in Luanda, the Secretary of State for the Economy, Ivan Marques dos Santos.
Responding to journalists’ questions at the Ministry of Economy and Planning briefing, Ivan Marques dos Santos underlined that the Development Bank of Angola (BDA) has its own autonomy to create teams to monitor the implementation process.
“The BDA has its own autonomy and, in a way, it will put the numbers that we would like to see and analyze, from jobs generated and the level of impact that these financings had on the real economy”, he stressed.
Data made available until December showed that the Development Bank of Angola (BDA) had approved, from January to November 2022, a total of 1,807 projects, of which 1,093 were financed with a disbursement of 45 billion kwanzas.
To date, 714 projects were waiting for the respective disbursements and with regard to the overall number of approved projects, within the BDA portfolio, there was an increase of 49 processes in relation to the first week of November.
The Credit Support Project (PAC), part of the Production Support, Export Diversification and Import Replacement Program (PRODESI), was restructured in 2022 to increase funding for projects that have had difficulty obtaining credit.
