Africa-Press – Angola. The executive secretary of the PADDA – Aliança Patriótica no Cuando Cubango party, Florindo Amado, defended, this Monday, in Menongue, the implementation of local elections in 2024, to give more power to the population and contribute to reducing asymmetries.

Florindo Amado made this challenge during the 1st ordinary meeting of the party’s executive committee, which elected new members, with emphasis on the provincial secretary for communication and marketing, Agostinho Hossi, and for organization and mobilization, Abel Agostinho Capuma.

The politician from the Democratic Alliance and Development of Angola Party – Patriotic Alliance (PADDA-AP) understands that holding local elections in 2024, in all municipalities, will boost equal rights and provide sustainability to municipalities in terms of local development.

He said it is necessary for local elections to be implemented in all municipalities so that “the people can live better, freely, elect deputies to municipal assemblies and their presidents, have schools, hospitals with medicines, water, electricity, employment, housing, right to land, good roads and self-government”.

On the other hand, Florindo Amado defended the need to install signals from Rádio Nacional de Angola and TPA in some municipalities in the interior, to keep citizens informed about events in the province, in Angola and in the world in general, as well as circulation comprehensive, in physical format, of Jornal de Angola.

The executive secretary of PADDA-AP said that he will reinforce the work of mobilizing, recruiting and qualifying new members for the party, through the creation of new political action centers, aiming to strengthen the organization.
