Africa-Press – Angola. The Action Plan for the Promotion of Employability (PAPE), in Cunene province, made it possible to reinforce the skills of young entrepreneurs, through the distribution of work kits and microcredits, considered, this Tuesday, some beneficiaries of the project .
The launch of PAPE allowed for the delivery of 2,888 kits and microcredits, as well as the creation of 588 jobs in the six municipalities of Cunene province.
The beneficiary of the manicure and pedicure kit, Júlia Elias, underlined that the means made it possible to reactivate the activity, which was paralyzed due to lack of work material.
The 24-year-old said that, with the help of PAPE, she managed to find a better structured and equipped space to practice her profession.
She appealed to other young people to sign up for PAPE, noting that with the kit purchased, in 2022, she tripled the number of customers, becoming a small entrepreneur.
In turn, Eliseu Celestino, beneficiary of microcredit, said that the amount delivered was invested in the area of trade with the sale of food products, cosmetics and beverages.
For Miguel Tchavala, PAPE boosted the dynamics of his work activity, emphasizing that he previously worked with his brother and is currently opening his own space.
For 15 years in the barbershop market, he said that the delivery of equipment such as a cutting machine, mirror, dryers, among others, facilitated the creation of his space, with 10 employees.
Miguel Tchivala highlighted as the main value of the PAPE the attribution of the professional card, a document that allows him to carry out the activity in any country and abroad in a legal way.
The Action Plan for the Promotion of Employability (PAPE), approved by Presidential Decree n.o 113/19, of April 16, is one of the executive’s lines of action, which aims to increase employability levels, as a mechanism to combat poverty and social exclusion.
The Plan, which has a national scope, also aims to encourage and support the initiative spirit of entrepreneurs, mainly young people and women, to enhance the exercise of professions through the attribution of professional cards and to give opportunities for internships to recently graduated citizens.
The objectives of this Programme, in which the young population and women are a priority, will be translated into the implementation of the guidelines set out in the National Development Plan – 2018-2022, particularly in promoting employability.
