Africa-Press – Angola. On Wednesday, the deputies of the provincial district of Malanje observed the functioning of the Delegation of Justice and Human Rights, with the aim of evaluating the functioning and the main difficulties of the sector in the region.

During the visit, the parliamentarians visited the external services of the Provincial Delegation of Justice and Human Rights, namely the Human Rights Committee, the Registry Office, and the Municipal Department of Civil and Criminal Identification.

At the end of the visit, the coordinator of the group of deputies from the provincial district of Malanje, Ana da Purificação da Piedade, expressed concern about the low number of professionals and the delay in completing the works at the Registry Office, as well as at the Reception Centre for Children in Conflict with the Law.

The lack of adequate facilities to better accommodate the staff, among other situations, is also one of the concerns detected by the deputies from the provincial district of Malanje.“We will take all of these concerns to the Provincial Government and include them in our report to the National Assembly”, she stressed.

Ana da Purificação da Piedade announced that during 2024, 37 children aged between 9 and 16 were registered as being in conflict with the law.

She announced that visits to the Health Office and the Citizen Service (SIAC) will also be carried out in the coming days.

The delegate for Justice and Human Rights, João de Assunção, stressed that they have been carrying out several actions within the communities, within the scope of the local registration service, through mobile teams.

According to the official, during the first quarter, more than three thousand registrations were made to national citizens and he guaranteed that actions of this kind will continue, aiming to guarantee the registration of citizens within the communities and the attribution of the Identity Card, through fixed posts, having highlighted that five fixed posts were created in the municipality of Malanje and the rest with one post each.
