Africa-Press – Angola. Pedro Gonçalves, national coach, announces today, in a press conference, at 3:00 pm, the call-up of the Palancas Negras, at the headquarters of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), for the Cosafa Cup, to be played from 4 to 15 June in Mangaung, Bloemfontein, South Africa.According to a statement from the governing body of the sport in the country, the national team will take advantage of the next FIFA date with the participation of the Palancas Negras in the Southern Region Tournament, with the aim of preparing for the next commitments of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) and qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
Later today, the national team will find out who their opponents will be in the first phase of the competition, after the draw has been made.
It should be noted that Angola holds the Cosafa title, having won 5-0 in the final against Namibia, in the competition held in Port Elizabeth.
