Pensioners get an exclusive BPC desk in Menongue

Africa-Press – Angola. Pensioners, including retired soldiers, former combatants, widows and traditional authorities, won Monday, in Menongue, a new exclusive service counter of the Banco de Poupança e Crédito (BPC), which will speed up current issues.

The banking unit will have the capacity to serve more than 700 pensioners daily, in an action that aims to give better dynamics to this fringe of society.

In the province of Cuando Cubango, the BPC has six branches and two service points in operation, in Menongue, capital of the province, Cuito Cuanavale, Mavinga, Calai, Cuangar and Cuchi.

Across the country, there are now 13 branches exclusively for pensioners.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new branch, BPC administrator Luís Duarte stressed that BPC had implemented initiatives aimed at taking its products and services to remote and difficult-to-reach locations in the country, with the implementation of the itinerant mobile branch and the intermittent branches, as well as those already existing units, where the presence of the bank with humanized services is required, similar to the so-called “My branch”, now inaugurated.

He said that this is a very special concept, which arises with the convenience of humanized service in mind for the pensioner customer segment.

On the other hand, he added, the concept contributes positively to the reduction of floods and queues, especially in the phase of payment of pensions and civil service salaries.

According to the manager, “At my counter”, customers will have a wide range of services available, with dedicated teams to ensure good service, from treasury operations such as withdrawals, deposits and transfers and having the opportunity to request personal loans, credit cards multicaixa debit, visa debit cards, among other services and products that the bank has to satisfy customers.

During the act, the governor of the province of Cuando Cubango, José Martins, considered that the new service space for pensioners will improve the conditions of comfort.
