Africa-Press – Angola. A hat trick by Tiago Azulão and a goal by Érico continued, on Friday, the celebrations of the title of anticipated champion of Girabola’2021/22, in the rout of Petro de Luanda over Sporting de Benguela, by 4-0 , at Estádio Nacional 11 de Novembro, in the closing game of the 28th round.
The Brazilian forward scored the goals in the 3rd, 8th and 64th minutes, the first being after a toast from Sporting’s Cobra goalkeeper, and the others following crosses.
With the three goals, Azulão ascended to the first position of the list of the best scorers, with 20 goals, followed by the former striker and resignation of Sagrada Esperança, Depu, with 19 goals. Before the Brazilian’s last goal, Érico scored the third tricolor goal, in the conclusion of a cross by Diógenes.
Despite the dominance of the tricolors throughout the match, in the first half, the leonine team could also have scored, but their forwards lacked effectiveness.
In this stage of the game, Sporting gave Petro’s defensive sector goosebumps a few times, with a header in the 25th minute, followed by two shots in the 35th and 39th, when goalkeeper Augusto Mualucano was already beaten.
The coach of the Eixo Viário club, Alexandre Santos, started the challenge with a group of players mostly used in this Girabola.
Of this group, only Gleison Moreira and Tiago Azulão were the most used in this competition and in the League of African Champions Clubs in football.
In the complementary stage, the Eixo Viário team slowed down the pace and dynamics of the match, but also due to the improvement in the defensive organization presented by the opponent, after the coach’s “pull” of the ear.
In the sum of the regular time, the lions were without physical condition and strong legs to avoid the rout, despite showing some intention.
With this result, Petro consolidated the leadership of the league table, with 71 points, as well as the competitive ascendancy in this football season.
The Eixo Viário team has the best attacks and defense of the competition, with 71 goals scored and only 16 goals conceded.
The lions, who hold the “red lantern” in 16th place, with nine points, have the worst offensive and defensive sector of the competition, with 14 goals scored and 75 scored.
With this challenge, Petro ended Girabola’s calendar matches.
