Africa-Press – Angola. Petro de Luanda defeated Desportivo da Huila 2-0 in a rescheduled match for the 15th round of the national first division football championship “Unitel-Girabola 2025-26 League”, confirming their position as leader of the competition.
In a match played at the 11 de Novembro Stadium in the Angolan capital, Petro scored in the minute 15 through Kinito and in the 68th minute through Toro.
The first goal came when the Petro de Luanda defender deflected the ball beyond the reach of Desportivo da Huila’s goalkeeper, Natan, following a free kick from midfielder Jonathan Toro. Toro also scored the second goal.
The match saw the home team dominate from start to finish, with their opponents only managing one direct shot on goal, which was saved by Petro de Luanda’s goalkeeper Hugo Marques in the minute 51.
The result puts the current champions at the top of the table with 39 points, followed by 1o de Agosto (33) and Wiliete de Benguela (32).
Desportivo da Huila remain in 12th position with 16 points, while Guelson FC remain bottom with just seven.
