Africa-Press – Angola. One thousand and 297 attempted border violations between the province of Cunene, Angola, and Namibia, were prevented in the first quarter of this year by the Border Guard Police (PGF), 240 fewer cases compared to the same period in 2023.

According to the official, the violations amount to 1,281 cases of tax evasion, 11 of fuel smuggling and one of cannabis sativa (liamba) trafficking.

He said that the infractions culminated in the arrest of 9,792 citizens, 9,785 of whom were nationals and seven foreigners, 3,816 fewer than in the interior period.

During the period in question, the PGF seized 10 vehicles, various vehicle accessories, mobile phones, household utensils, food items, as well as three thousand and 35 liters of gasoline and two thousand and 917 liters of diesel for attempted tax evasion.
