Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA will celebrate its 66th anniversary on the 10th of this month and opened, this Sunday, a cultural and arts show, called “Feira do M”, in Luanda, as part of the festivities, after the opening of socio-political activities last Saturday.

Speaking to the press, with regard to the initiative that will run until the 11th, on the Luanda side, the party spokesman, Rui Falcão, valued the exhibition and highlighted the symbolism of the various costumes on display.

“That’s why we have our women wearing headscarves, pants and shirts in the colors of the party (MPLA),” said the politician, quoted by Angop.

The fair includes exhibitions of clothing, books, paintings, music, arts and national cuisine. The days alluding to the 10th of December were opened, officially, on Saturday, under the motto: “MPLA the strength of the people” and women are, in the majority, this people, and should take place throughout the country.

Yesterday, the opening act was attended by the first secretary of the party in Luanda, Manuel Homem, members of the MPLA Central Committee and provincial committees, as well as guests.

Exhibition of the historical trajectory

A photographic exhibition on the historical trajectory of the MPLA has been on display since Saturday (3), in the main hall of the Conference Center of Belas, as part of the commemorative days of the party’s 66th anniversary, which is celebrated on the 10th of this month.

The exhibition depicts the political actions of the MPLA in the period 1956-2022 and was visited by members of the Secretariat of the Political Bureau, with emphasis on the party’s general secretary, Paulo Pombolo.

Among the photos on display, those that portray the activities of President Agostinho Neto in the period between 1963 and 1979 stand out. da, to share their political awareness songs.

These are Santos Júnior, Calabeto, Carlos Lamartine, Santocas, Mirol and Legalize, who performed songs by David Zé and Artur Nunes, of political intervention, exalting the phase of the armed struggle for national liberation, Independence of Angola and the consolidation of peace and development of the country.

In 15 minutes, the artists entertained hundreds of MPLA militants, sympathizers and friends from all municipalities and urban districts in the province of Luanda.

Members of the Secretariat of the Political Bureau of the MPLA, the Central Committee of the Government, members of the National Assembly, guests, militants, sympathizers and friends of the party were present in the room.
