Three national citizens, aged between 18 and 30, were arrested by the National Police in Cuanza Sul, for allegedly being involved in the theft of electrical cables from the new provincial hospital, under construction in the Saber Andar neighborhood, in Sumbe, I learned, this Tuesday.
The information was provided by the head of the Criminal Offenses Investigation Department (DIIP) of the Provincial Command of the National Police, Mário Lino de Sousa, adding that the accused, employees of the private security company that protects the facilities of the province’s new health unit, They were arrested in the last 48 hours, following police intelligence work.
According to the person responsible, who presented the results of a police micro-operation called “Lussolo”, carried out in Sumbe, in the same period three other alleged criminals were also arrested, accused of theft and vandalization of public property.
He reported that, during the operation, law enforcement seized five laptop computers, 15 cell phones, three motorbikes and six aluminum windows from the possession of the alleged criminals.
On the occasion, the official stated that the corporation will continue to work to combat crime and restore a feeling of security to the region’s populations.
‘The National Police will continue to carry out a fierce fight against criminals who disturb the security of the population and vandalize public property”, he highlighted.
For this reason, he urged the population to continue collaborating with the forces of order, denouncing criminal acts and evildoers.
The municipality of Sumbe, capital of the province of Cuanza Sul, has three municipalities (Quicombo, Ngangula and Gungo) and has an estimated population of 313,894 inhabitants.
