Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred and three members of the Zaire Provincial Command of the National Police (PN) were, this Wednesday, in Mbanza Kongo, trained on policing and security, with a view to improving their performance.

The second methodological seminar on public security and operations dealt with topics on the evaluation of policing procedures, the authorization process for the installation of video surveillance cameras, strategic, operational and tactical planning procedures.

This capacity-building action, which is part of the annual police instruction and training plan, is also discussing aspects of organization, modalities of action and execution of proximity policing, procedures on the use of coercive means by the police.

Procedures for transporting detainees or suspects in police vehicles, for ensuring meetings and demonstrations, requirements and procedures for processing information and operational statistics, among others, are on the agenda of this seminar.

Participating in these training workshops, which will take place from the 15th to the 30th of this month in all municipalities, are municipal commanders of the National Police, heads of operations of units and operational coordination bodies, commanders of squadrons, police stations, heads of operations centers of the squadrons, among other personnel.

At the opening, the second provincial commander for intervention and protection, sub-commissioner Augusto Viana Mateus, augured the need to determine and define the principles of organization and functioning that are flexible to the socio-cultural contexts of the communities and favor the integration of other entities in the prevention of various aspects of public safety.

He underlined that the aim is to make police action more professional and that it meets the needs of the population.

This methodological seminar, which takes place under the motto “public security and operations, challenges for the alignment of operational activity”, is guided by local officers of the National Police, trained for this purpose.
