Africa-Press – Angola. Five thousand and 520 liters of fuel destined for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were seized Tuesday by the Border Guard Police in the municipality of Soyo, province of Zaire.

In a note sent yesterday to press the institutional communication and press office of the Provincial Delegation of the Interior in Zaire, informs that the fuel seized for presumed contraband was being transported by an artisanal craft.

The document adds that the seizure of the product, packed in 69 drums, took place in the Santo António river channel, as a result of operational work carried out by the staff of the 2nd Border Guard Police Unit in Soyo.

The note also mentions that the presumed owners of the merchandise fled when they noticed the police patrol.

The fuel was handed over to the General Tax Administration (AGT) in Soyo for legal procedures.
