Africa-Press – Angola. The National Police in the municipality of Tomboco, Zaire province, recovered on Tuesday a woman suspected of being a citizen of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), who had been abandoned, allegedly by illegal immigrant traffickers, in the woods of this area, along with four minor children.

In statements to the press this Wednesday, the spokesperson for the National Police in Zaire, Superintendent Luís Bernardo, explained that the woman, without any identification documents, intended to reach the country’s capital, Luanda, by clandestine means.“She paid money to the guides who are now fugitives, but stationed in the municipality of Tomboco, and was abandoned with her four children, aged one to four years old,” he explained.

The spokesperson said that the police are working to capture the presumed perpetrators so they can be held criminally responsible.

He appealed to the population residing in border areas and on National Road 210, which connects the municipalities of Mbanza Kongo and Nzeto, to continue cooperating with the authorities, reporting all those involved in the trafficking of illegal immigrants.

“Only with everyone’s collaboration will we win this battle, which is becoming increasingly alarming here in our province,” he expressed.

The aforementioned Congolese woman, in an irregular migratory situation, was referred to the Immigration and Foreigners Service (SME) for appropriate processing.
