On the DPA’s proposal, which envisages raising the historic commune of Lucusse to the rank of municipality, the official said that the measure could boost the development of local communities, through the exploration of their potential.

With 19,331 inhabitants, according to the person in charge, the commune of Lucusse is located in a strategic area, along the National Road (EN180), a decisive factor to facilitate the flow of business and economic growth, in case of implementation of the DPA.

He added that, in case of elevation to municipality category, it will also allow to accumulate more resources and decisions in height to correspond with the expectations of the local population.

This measure will take advantage of the region’s tourist and agricultural potential, whose production has already supplied several markets in the east of the country.

“The DPA for us will be a driving force for development”, he maintained.

Lucusse, with 11,278 square kilometres, is one of the three communes that make up the municipality of Moxico (seat) which is 133 kilometers from Luena, the capital of the province.
