Politician highlights MPLA's historical path in the fight for national liberation

Africa-Press – Angola. The second secretary of the MPLA in the province of Huambo, Adérito Chimuco, highlighted this Saturday the party’s historic journey in the fight for national liberation and the country’s social and economic progress.

The supporter, who was speaking at the provincial act in advance of the celebrations of the MPLA’s 67th anniversary, which takes place on the 10th of this month, highlighted the political organization’s engagement in the mobilization of young people, men and women, in the fight against Portuguese colonialism, which culminated with the proclamation of National Independence on November 11, 1975.

According to Adérito Chimuco, 67 years later, the MPLA’s path has been crowned with struggles and countless victories, as the progress that the country has made is visible, especially in the field of teaching/learning, whose colonialism had denied the right to indigenous people.

He said that there are several challenges that the MPLA (governing party) faces, but it needs to recognize the work that has been developed and the efforts made by valiant men and women, in creating conditions so that there are more opportunities for education, employment, improvement of medical/medicine assistance, increased national production and reduced imports.

He mentioned that these are challenges that are multiplying daily, at a time when the MPLA, with the strength of the people, continues to mobilize and work towards building a prosperous country full of opportunities for all.

He highlighted the need for commemorative days celebrating the 67th anniversary of the founding of the MPLA to constitute a strong current of mobilization and support from activists and the population, in general, around the Central leadership of the party, the Executive and President João Lourenço.

He stated that the Executive has done everything to find the best ways to implement the guidance of the founder of the Nation, António Agostinho Neto, according to which “The most important thing is to solve the people’s problems”.

This great objective, according to the politician, will only be achieved if everyone, in their opposite work or residence, does things correctly and gives their best, works with love for the people, serving without precedent to fulfill the word of order of the late President António Agostinho Neto.

The commemorative event of the 67th anniversary of the founding of the MPLA, held in the municipality of Ucuma, in the western corridors of Huambo province, was marked with a message from OMA and JMPLA, which reaffirmed the party’s achievements in rescuing patriotic values and the union of militants around President João Lourenço, who has done everything in favor of sustainable social and economic development.

Musicians Jorge Calebe, Picantos, Zinaida Cachiungo, Malucos de Yesterday and 300 brightened the event.
