Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, Monday congratulated the Government and People of Ghana on the celebration of another anniversary of national independence.

In a message sent to his Ghanaian counterpart, Nana Akufo Addo, the Head of State highlights “the dynamics that Ghana has acquired internally”.

In the message, the Angolan Head of State highlights the advances in matters related to economic and social development, as well as the deepening of democracy and the fundamental freedoms of the Ghanaian people.

João Lourenço expresses, in the document, Angola’s deep interest in expanding and increasingly strengthening the ties of cooperation and solidarity between our countries, peoples and governments.

Ghana became the first country in Africa to gain independence from Great Britain on March 6, 1957.
