PR expresses regret for the victims of the floods in Rio Grande do Sul

Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, expressed this Tuesday, in Luanda, his regret for the victims of the floods that occurred in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, where more than 135 deaths occurred.

The latest reports from the authorities indicate that the storms and floods that have hit the region since the end of April have already caused 136 deaths, 125 missing and 756 injured.

In a message addressed to his Brazilian counterpart, Lula da Silva, the Angolan President states that he has followed with concern and regret the difficult situation caused by the floods that have occurred and which have resulted in serious and extensive human and material consequences.

“I express to you at this time when you are facing this tragedy of worrying proportions the solidarity of the Angolan people and Government who join together and share the pain of the brotherly Brazilian people”, the letter reads.

João Lourenço extends his deepest condolences to the families bereaved as a result of this natural catastrophe.
