Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, received, this Monday, in audience, the leader of the company Tosyali Holding, Fuat Tosyali, with whom he discussed aspects related to the Cassinga mining project (Huíla province).
To the press, the Turkish businessman said that the issue of the Namibe steel factory had also been addressed, with the aim of seeking to deepen discussions on these matters.
He reported having explained to the President of the Republic the ongoing work on the ground, with João Lourenço showing himself to be very committed and offering his full support in relation to the implementation of the projects.
The businessman also received instructions from the Angolan President to act quickly, which received the group’s approval.
The Cassinga mining complex is a set of iron and gold mines in operation since 1967. It is located in the province of Huíla in Angola. Its mines are explored by the Turkish company Tosyali and, until 2020, it was being operated by the Angolan state-owned company Ferrangol.
