Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, received Tuesday, in Luanda, a message from his counterpart from the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Brahim Ghali, focused on strengthening relations between the two countries

The bearer of the message, as special envoy, was the advisor to the Saharawi Statesman, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, who, at the end of the hearing, told the press that both countries develop historical relations in favor of both peoples and also the African peoples.

“I conveyed to your Excellency the message from your brother, the President of the Arab Republic, the hope that Angola continues to support its brotherly countries and play the role of leader that it is, in the liberation of Africa”

With a surface area of ​​266,000 square kilometers, the Saharawi Arab Republic is a territory in Northern Africa, limited to the North by Morocco, to the East by Algeria, to the East and South by Mauritania and to the West by the Atlantic Ocean, where it forms a maritime border. with the Spanish autonomous region of the Canaries.

The country claims sovereignty over the territory occupied by the Kingdom of Morocco for more than 40 years, shortly after Spain’s withdrawal.

Its population is estimated at more than 500 thousand inhabitants.
