Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, condemned, last Sunday night, the anti-democratic acts registered in Brazil.

In a statement published on the official page of the Presidency of the Republic on Facebook, João Lourenço expresses the most vigorous and firm condemnation of anti-democratic acts against institutions that represent and symbolize Brazilian democracy.

“We consider these manifestations regrettable and revealing a high degree of intolerance, not compatible with the rules of the democratic game, in which the results legitimized by the popular vote must be recognized and accepted by all”, reinforces the Angolan statesman.

According to the Angolan President, the elections recently held in Brazil were recognized worldwide as free, fair and transparent, thus making no sense for the current demands.

As President “pro tempore” of the CPLP and President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço expresses the conviction that the Brazilian Government, with which he expresses solidarity, will exercise its authority and restore, without delay, democratic order in country.

It is recalled that protesters, supporters of the former president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, managed, this Sunday, to break through a blockade by the authorities and invade the Senate, the Planalto Palace and the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
