Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, returned to Luanda, at the beginning of this Friday night, coming from Malanje province, where he carried out a working visit of a few hours.

At the Luanda Air Base, the Angolan Head of State received greetings from the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, members of the Executive and senior officials in his office.

In Malanje, the holder of the Executive Branch had a courtesy meeting with the provincial governor, Marcos Nhunga, inaugurated the system for capturing, treating and distributing water, in the locality of Quissol, 12 kilometers east of the city of Malanje.

It is an infrastructure capable of producing 720 cubic meters of water per hour, from the Cuije River, budgeted at 31 million 237 thousand and 861 US dollars.

On the occasion, President João Lourenço reaffirmed the conclusion of the construction works of the Caculo-Cabaça hydroelectric dam, in the province of Cuanza Norte, for the year 2026.

“If the financing does not fail, the project could be concluded within the foreseen period”, assured the Head of State regarding the Caculo-Cabaça dam.
