Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, in his capacity as acting leader of the African Union (AU), held a telephone conversation this morning, Friday, with Abdourahamane Tchiani, President of the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland of Niger.
According to the page of the Angolan statesman on social media, the conversation took place following the recent visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, to Niamey, bearer, on that mission, of an verbal message from President João Lourenço.
The President of the Republic of Angola and leader of the African Union discussed with the Nigerien entity the particular situation in Niger and the Sahel, in general.
The information also adds that it is also planned that Minister Téte António will return, in the near future, to Niamey, for new contacts with the authorities of that Sahel country.
