Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, met, this Friday, in Abu Dhabi, with the new President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace, in the Emirati capital, and the Head of State was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and the Angolan ambassador accredited to Abu Dhabi, Albino Malungo.
Since assuming the presidency in September 2017, João Lourenço has already been on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates in January 2019, December 2021 and now, May 2022.
Angola and the United Arab Emirates signed, in 2019, an agreement for the mutual protection of investments, the starting point for the start of the new phase of cooperation.
The governments of the two countries have ratified a convention to avoid double taxation and tax evasion, which has been in force since March 2020, focusing on economic cooperation, with emphasis on Transport, Agriculture and Industry.
