Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, travels this afternoon to the province of Zaire, in fulfillment of his political agenda, announced this Thursday, his secretary for Institutional Communication and Press Affairs.
Luís Fernando informed that the Head of State, as president of the MPLA, is leading a mass political act tomorrow in the city of Mbanza Congo, as part of the ongoing political action, with a view to the August general elections.
In Mbanza Kongo, the expectations of activists, friends and sympathizers, as well as the population in general, are high. Since yesterday, the city has registered a festive atmosphere, with citizens “visiting” the achievements of the MPLA leader, consolidated in well-achieved actions, throughout the national territory, throughout his term.
João Lourenço is the topic of conversation, here, in the province of Zaire, with stakeholders looking at his path, trying to find the best excerpts from the many speeches given for the development and well-being of Angolans.
Tomorrow, it is awaited, in the Dr. António Agostinho Neto, where the mass act will take place, a concentration of people, among militants, friends and MPLA sympathizers, eager to show support and affection for leader João Lourenço. The first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Zaire, Pedro Makita Júlia, assured that the conditions are created for the success of the political party act.
“We are prepared, we are going to receive our leader João Lourenço with dignity”, he stressed, adding: “We are going to be present and reaffirm our vote in the MPLA, so that Angola and the Angolans can cement the peace process, development and well-being. social being of populations”.
Pedro Makita revealed that there are expectations among militants, sympathizers and friends of the MPLA in Zaire, auguring that the 5th general elections will be a party for Angolans.
Better Living Conditions
The first secretary of the MPLA in Zaire, Pedro Makita, said, on Thursday, that socio-economic life has improved substantially in the province of Zaire, as part of the implementation of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), with greater focus on Mbanza Kongo, Nóqui and Tomboco, where 34 projects were completed.
Pedro Makita said that, in the expansion of PIIM actions, the province went from a portfolio of 34 to 91 projects, which include works by the Municipal Hospital, the Municipal Administration of Soyo and the Tomboco Registry Office. In this context, some roads are being paved in the municipality of Mbanza Kongo and schools are being built in Kuimba and Nóqui.
Zaire is also implementing activities within the scope of the Kwenda, PRODESI, PAPE and PREI programmes. “We are developing programs and projects on the initiative of the Holder of the Executive Power, whose results are allowing the creation of better living conditions for the populations”, stressed the also governor of the province of Zaire, Pedro Makita.
Zaire General Hospital
Construction work on the Zaire General Hospital, in Mbanza Kongo, with a capacity of 318 beds, resumed, six years after being paralyzed by issues related to the economic and financial crisis. The information was released yesterday by the MPLA’s first provincial secretary in Zaire, on the sidelines of the preparations for the mass political act, to be guided, tomorrow, by the party’s president, João Lourenço.
The infrastructure, awaited with great expectation by the local inhabitants, is budgeted at 87 million and 850 thousand euros, with the Executive having already paid the differential of this amount, which also includes its total equipping.
The works, which employ a total of 1,050 workers, in the most varied specialties, must be concluded in 15 months, with the supervision in charge of the DAR company. The General Hospital of Zaire, whose physical execution is in charge of the construction company Vamed Engeinneering Deutschland GmbH, is about 80 percent advanced and occupies a total area of 27 thousand square meters.
The two-storey development will have, among other things, 18 specialty laboratories, seven operating theaters, six inpatient wards, several attached structures and will provide diversified medical services, with emphasis on pediatrics, hemodialysis, cardiology, in addition to a school of health for the training of doctors and technicians. The clinical staff to ensure its operation is estimated at 1200 technicians, including doctors, nurses and administrative staff.
