Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Supreme Court (TS), Joel Leonardo, will participate from this Thursday, in the International Forum “Cortes em Conexão”, taking place from the 10th to the 11th of this month, in the city of Brasília, Brazil.
According to a press release, the forum’s program includes discussions on topics such as “Simple Language in Justice and Communication with Society”, “International Courts of Human Rights and Preservation of Democracies”, “Protection of Personal Data by the Judiciary”, and “Artificial Intelligence in the Judiciary”.
In Brasília since Monday, the president of the Superior Council of the Judiciary will, on the sidelines of the forum, participate in the Solemn Session to Celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Superior Court of Justice of Brazil (STJ), an event that will bring together several representatives of the international legal community.
This is the second time, in the space of a year, that the president of the Supreme Court of Angola has made a working visit to Brazil.
In November 2023, Joel Leonardo participated, in Brasília, in the 11th Forum of Presidents of the Supreme Courts of Portuguese-speaking Countries and Territories.
In the field of judicial exchange, a cooperation protocol has been in force since 2014 between the TS of Angola and the Supreme Court of Justice of Brazil.
In 2023, Angola presented a proposal to expand this cooperation with the Federal Justice Council of the Federative Republic of Brazil, with a view to defining and implementing technical instruments for institutional, functional and procedural management improvement.
