Africa-Press – Angola. The president of UNITA, Adalberto Costa Júnior, has been working since this afternoon, in the city of Malanje, as part of the party’s XI parliamentary days, which the province hosts from the 5th to the 7th of this month.
Upon his arrival, the politician was welcomed with a car parade, having presided over a mass event, which aimed to maintain contact with party activists, followed by a meeting with the leadership and deputies of that party formation.
On the occasion, Adalberto Costa Júnior, appealed to the militant mass to remain confident in the party’s short, medium and long-term programs of inclusive governance.
However, he reiterated the need to hold local authorities in 2024, aiming to improve the quality of life of Angolans.
“We will continue to work to achieve the governance goal in 2027, to serve the country and Angolans”, he stressed, adding that there is a need to improve the health, education, energy and other sectors, especially in the municipalities.
The UNITA president’s working day is scheduled for Wednesday (4), an audience with the acting governor of Malanje, João Cariqui and courtesy meetings with the leaders of the Catholic and United Methodist Churches, as well as visits to secondary education institutions and higher, in the city of Malanje.
The parliamentary days will take place under the motto “UNITA Parliamentary Group, for Democracy, citizenship and inclusive development”, and will serve to discuss aspects linked to democracy, citizenship and inclusive development of the country, as well as taking stock of the actions of the first parliamentary year of the fifth legislature.
The socio-economic and political situation of the province and the principles and rules for the preparation of the General State Budget (OGE) and respective monitoring mechanisms are also included in the meeting’s approaches.
