Africa-Press – Angola. Three private security companies based in the province of Lunda-Sul received organic weapons, Tuesday, in Saurimo, after returning war weapons to the local National Police, as part of the process of collecting and replacing them, in the possession of same.

The weapons delivered by private companies are of the semi-automatic pistol type, with a caliber not exceeding 7.75 mm, a semi-automatic rifle, a 38 mm repeating shotgun and a short 38 mm revolver, with a barrel length not exceeding 30 cm or four inches.

These are the companies Suprema, which benefited from 10 organic weapons, Kufunga, with 70, and Alfa 5, with 80 weapons, which, from now on, will be used by the employees of the respective companies.

Speaking, without mentioning the number of weapons returned, the second commander for Public Order of the National Police, Manuel Lopes, asked all private companies that still have weapons of war to hand them over to the competent authorities, complying with Law 10/14 of 30 July.

The official praised the speed and prompt response of the companies mentioned in handing over war weapons to the police, previously used by their officers, and replacing them with organic weapons.

The representative of the company Alfa 5, Paulino Nazeque, said that the act is part of the Government’s strategy of replacing weapons of war held by private security companies with organic weapons.

He encouraged other companies to follow the same example, complying with the recommendations contained in Law 10/14 of 30 July.

This is the first act of handing over weapons of war to take place in the province of Lunda-Sul, since this process began at the end of last year.
