Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of State for Planning, Nilton dos Santos Reis, considered this Wednesday, in the municipality of Cuito (Bié), satisfactory the results obtained in projects financed through Prodesi, FADA and PAC.
Nilton dos Santos Reis, who was speaking to the local press at the end of a visit to funded projects, highlighted that the Government will always be available to support agricultural cooperatives and poultry production.
He also mentioned that the Executive will continue to make every effort to mobilize resources, to finance more projects, essentially in the field of transformation and conservation of agricultural assets, through the credit guarantee fund and other lines.
The Secretary of State for Planning, Nilton dos Santos Reis, noted the operation of the cooperatives Epocoloco, in the commune of Trumba (Cuito), AVIPAL (focused on egg production), ENSW – inspection and consultancy, as well as five fresh produce sellers.
Domingos Chimuco, member of the Epocoloco cooperative, which benefited from 50 million kwanzas, within the scope of PRODESI, said he was satisfied with the Government’s support.
This aid, he added, allowed, in the current agricultural season, to cultivate on 250 hectares, having harvested more than 60 tons of corn, 25 tons of beans, one of wheat, 10 tons of cabbage among other products.
Currently with 100 members, for the agricultural2023/2024 campaign it plans to expand up to 500 hectares, with the aim of including the production of butter beans, soybeans, wheat, reindeer and sweet potatoes and others.
The Production Support, Export Diversification and Import Substitution Program (PRODESI) has so far created 2,632 jobs, as well as 10,274 indirect jobs.
Within the framework of PRODESI, 18 projects were financed in Bié, worth 760 million 930 thousand 784 kwanzas, by the Development Bank of Angola (BDA).
The projects are located in the municipality of Cuito, with five, Chitembo and Catabola, with three each, Capacupa and Nharêa, with two each, while Andulo, Chinguar and Cunhinga each had one.
In the line of credit for the modernization of expansion of activities in the agriculture, livestock and fisheries sector, approved by the executive, worth 12.5 billion kwanzas, 18 cooperative projects were selected, of which 16 have already been financed, for the total amount 550 million kwanzas.
For the Angolan Venture Capital Active Fund (FACRA), the province had more than a thousand registered projects, of which only five were financed, totaling 20 million kwanzas, in the municipalities of Cuito, Camacupa and Cunhinga.
For the Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA), Bié registered 40 projects, 13 of which were approved and financed, with a total value of 202 million 324 thousand 33 kwanzas and 81 cents, implemented in the municipalities of Andulo, Cuito Camacupa, Nhârea, Catabola and Cunhinga.
In the Credit Support Project (PAC), 197 projects were registered, 46 were approved and financed, worth one billion 658 million and 710 thousand kwanzas.
