Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, said Thursday, in Dundo, that 362 actions, in a total of 119,974 beneficiaries, registered under the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLCP), are concluded in the province of Lunda-Norte.
Speaking to the press before the PIDLCP monitoring and evaluation meeting, with the provincial government and the ten local municipal administrators, following the working visit to Lunda-Norte, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto informed that, at the moment, 73 other projects included in the program are ongoing.
“We have 362 people, out of the 19,974 beneficiaries of Lunda-Norte, whose actions were completed under the Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty in Lunda-Norte, have been concluded and 73 others are in progress”, he explained.
From the information she received from the provincial government, the minister explained that the completed projects are essentially related to the construction of schools and small bridges.
Accompanied by the Deputy Governor for the Political, Economic and Social Sector, Frederico Barroso, the minister said that the work agenda for the province aims to assess to what extent the ongoing and completed actions correspond to the information contained in the system, combined with the impact of implementation on the beneficiaries.
As well as sifting through the information provided by the authorities in Lunda-Norte, regarding the levels of financial execution mirrored in the system, like other provinces, the trip to Lunda-Norte served to monitor, evaluate, train, including the refreshment of knowledge of municipal administrators and directors of Study, Planning and Statistics Offices on the implementation of projects to combat poverty.
On the occasion, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto did not advance the resources so far applied in completed and ongoing actions, but warned that the provincial delegate for Finance has the mission of assisting municipal administrators in the implementation of the programme.
“Talking about financial resources is still premature, but the provincial finance delegate is precisely there to help municipal administrators with the implementation of the Program to Combat Poverty. However, after the working meeting, we will inform you based on the verification with the data that are in the State’s Integrated System of Financial Management, with a view to reconciling with what was spent by municipal administrations”, said the Minister of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion.
Minister Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto underlined that, in addition to the monitoring and evaluation meeting, she will, today, visit some projects included in the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty, in the municipality of Chitato.
