The provincial governor of Cuanza Norte, Pedro Makita, stressed, this Thursday, the need to implement and complete social and economic infrastructure in the province, to satisfy and improve health, leisure, work, and transportation conditions , transportation of goods and the habitability of the population.
Official data indicate that, under the Integrated Project for Intervention in the Municipality (PIIM) and the Public Investment Program (PIP), 86 projects are registered for the province, 75 local and 11 central, of which 41 have already been concluded and 45 running.
The Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLCP) enabled the execution of 78 actions and 138 are ongoing, in the areas of agriculture, primary health care, women’s empowerment, reintegration of ex-soldiers, school lunches and others.
Sixty-three projects, in the areas of education, health, energy and water and improvement of access routes are registered in the Public Investment Program (PIP) for 2023, in the province of Cuanza Norte, estimated at 14 billion 32 million and thirty-eight nine thousand kwanzas. During the five-year period 2023/2027, the PIP foresees the execution of 731 projects.
Speaking at the traditional end-of-year greetings ceremony, Pedro Makita also underlined the need to implement, “in the broadest sense of the word”, the Simplifica project, both in processes and in social relations between local administration officials and the population , which looks for the services of these institutions, humanizing and better personalizing the service to the public.
He called for greater dynamics in public security, in academic and professional training, in solidarity and in deepening the peace process and national reconciliation, preserving life as the supreme good.
For the governor, 2022 was very fertile in events worthy of highlighting and beyond, citing the holding of general elections in Angola as an example.
As an organ of the State’s Local Administration, he said, action within communities is visible, but our fellow citizens are unanimous in saying that its impact would be greater if we proceed with determination and courage in the path of “improving what is good and correcting what is wrong”.
Pedro Makita expressed the Government’s gratitude to the people and voters for the victory of the MPLA in the general elections and for the fairness and transparency of the process.
On behalf of the Provincial Government, public and private entities and other members of society, the Deputy Governor for the Technical Area and Infrastructure, Mendonça Luís, reaffirmed the commitment to continue working in a spirit of solidarity, peace, zeal and responsibility , loyalty and dedication for the good of all citizens, without distinction.
