Africa-Press – Angola. The Construction of the Quilonga Grande water supply system, in the municipality of Bom Jesus, Province of Icolo & Bengo, is progressing rapidly, reaching 55% of physical completion, and is expected to begin operations by the end of 2026.
The project includes 7 distribution centers, aiming to increase water production by more than 518,000 cubic meters daily, covering approximately 350,000 household connections.
According to a note sent on Wednesday (22), in addition to increasing access to drinking water for citizens, the project reinforces the Angolan government’s commitment to providing greater dignity and health to Angolans, improving their social and economic conditions.
It states that its a strategic and structuring system for Luanda and Icolo & Bengo, as it will cover the municipalities of Bom Jesus, Cabiri, Sequele, Mulenvos, Calumbo, Viana, and Catete, directly providing drinking water to approximately 5 million citizens.
